Virginia A. Collett, 97, of Xenia, passed away Saturday, January 7, 2017, at Legacy Village Assisted Living. She was born November 20, 1919, the daughter of Roy and Nelle Newland. She was a member of Sharon United Methodist Church, Wilmington.  She is survived by a daughter, Jane (Brian) Newton, Xenia, four grandchildren, Matthew (Mariah Linebaugh) Newton, Michael (Brittany) Newton, Tyler (Alison) McCormick, and Logan (Courtney Sheets) McCormick. great-grandchildren Nate and Jacob Newton, Kendall Newton and Lincoln McCormick and by several nieces and nephews, and by many close friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, by her husband, Robert Donald Collett on November 20, 2004, and brother Donald Newland.  Virginia will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Visitation will be held from 6-8pm Wednesday, January 11, at Neeld Funeral Home, 1276 N. Detroit St., Xenia. Private graveside services will be held at New Burlington Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Sharon United Methodist Church, 5181 State Route 380, Wilmington, OH, 45177,  or to Greene County Community Foundation 941 West Second St. Xenia, OH  45385  in her memory.
