William L. "Bill" Duncan, 76, of Xenia, passed away Friday, September 2, 2016, at Hospice of Dayton, after a 9 ½ year courageous battle with multiple myeloma. He was born June 17, 1940, in Greene County, Ohio, the son of Pearl B. "Jack" and Elizabeth Atkinson Duncan. He attended Oldtown United Methodist Church, and retired in 1990 as road supervisor with Xenia Township. He was a Xenia Township Volunteer firefighter for over 25 years, and served in many capacities while at the fire station. Bill loved the outdoors, gardening, and spending time with his loving family. He also enjoyed traveling with his wife Rita when his health permitted. He is survived by his very loving and devoted wife, Rita A. (Agnor) Duncan, whom he married June 7, 1963; two brothers, John T. "Jack" (Lois) Duncan, Xenia, and Carl N. Duncan, Bethesda, MD; sister-in-law Phoebe Duncan, Waynesville, OH; sister-in-law Dorothy Kurtz, Oregon, MO; sister-in-law Evelyn (Willard) Delaney, Bucyrus, OH; brother-in-law Ernie (Omalee) Agnor, Xenia; by several nieces and nephews; and by many close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister and brother-in-law, Martha (Bill) Ball; brother, Charles S. Duncan; and brother-in-law Herbert Kurtz. Memorial services will be held at 4pm, Saturday, September 17, at Neeld Funeral Home, 1276 N. Detroit St., Xenia, with Rev. Ken Martin officiating. Visitation will be held from 3pm Saturday until service time. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave., Dayton, OH, 45420, or to a favorite charity, in his memory.
