William A. "Bill" Simons, 81, of Xenia, peacefully passed away surrounded by family on Wednesday, May 3, 2017, at Miami Valley Hospital. He was born March 26, 1936, in Xenia, Ohio, the son of William E. and Vera M. "Diamond" Simons. He was a veteran of the United States Army, loved spending time outdoors, and was an avid golfer. He was a respected realtor in the Xenia area for many years, and retired as a loan officer with Huntington Bank. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Julianne "Julie" (Collins) Simons; his daughter, Sheryl (David) Dean; his son, Marc Simons; his step-daughter, Lori (Mark) Schlagheck; and his step-son, Mark (Laura) Sisson. He was loved by his 7 grandchildren (Eryn and Andrew Simons; Matthew and Brian Schlagheck; Hannah and Elizabeth Dean; Alia Sisson), 1 great-granddaughter (Reagan Schlagheck), sister-in-law, (Carolyn Collins), several nieces and nephews, and by many close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, Ralph L. Simons. Memorial services will be held on May 27, 2017, at 11:00 AM at Neeld Funeral Home, 1276 N. Detroit St., Xenia.
