William K. Haney, 81, of Xenia, passed away Monday, August 4, 2014, at Select Specialty Hospital, Columbus. He was born April 7, 1933, in Columbus, Ohio, the son of Paul K. and Anna M. Fox Haney. He was a lifelong member of St. Brigid Church and retired as an employee with the St. Brigid Parish. He is survived by his wife, Sofia (Arellano) Haney, whom he married September 7, 1963, children, Joseph (Terri) Haney, Xenia, Lisa (Joaquin) Serantes, Columbus, Tina (Dan) Castonguay, Xenia, Nancy (Wayne) Severt, Xenia, and Christopher (Helen) Haney, Bronx, NY, twelve grandchildren, Nick, Noah, Jacob, Max, Quino, Sofia, William, Eli, Chloe, Sam, Nadia, and Javier, a sister, Paula (John) Zaino, Xenia, brothers, Richard (Maureen) Haney, Columbus, Michael (Janie) Haney, Ft. Myers, FL, and Tim (Jone) Haney, Xenia, by many nieces, nephews and cousins, including a special niece, Michelle (Tom) Rice and Kauner, Xenia, in-laws, Emiliana and David Smith, Xenia, and by many close friends. Bill will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. The family would like to give a special thanks to the caregivers at Select Specialty Hospital, Columbus. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10am, Friday, August 8, at St. Brigid Church, 312 Fairground Rd., Xenia, with Rev. John Krumm officiating. Visitation will be held from 5-8pm Thursday at Neeld Funeral Home, 1276 N. Detroit St., Xenia. Burial will be in St. Brigid Cemetery.
