William P. "Willie" Kindred, 72, of Xenia, passed away at his home on Thursday, January 26, 2017.  He was born January 27, 1944, in Osborn, now Fairborn, Ohio, the seventh child of Olen and Thelma Bartram Kindred. He was preceded in death by his parents, and sisters, Mary Sodders, Ruth Dishon, Olene May, and Jean Sodders, a nephew, Greg Updike, his father-in-law, John Nickoson, and sister-in-law, Margaret Touhey. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Janet Kindred, whom he married, December 17, 1971. Together they raised two daughters and got two sons in return; Nicole (Jim) Lamb, Xenia, and Betsy (Mike) Blair, Beavercreek, grandchildren, Owen Lamb, Quinn Lamb, Andrew Blair, Alyssa Blair, Tucker Lamb, the lights of his life, his mother-in-law, Phyllis Nickoson, Xenia, brothers, Richard Kindred, Jamestown, and John Kindred, New Carlisle, brother-in-law, Richard Sodders, Fairborn, as well as by many nieces and nephews, and many close friends. Willie was a graduate of Fairborn High School and served three years in the United States Army. He retired from Xenia Community Schools and WPAFB. Willie loved his family and his home, especially his grandchildren. A special thanks to good friends Tom and Judy Edinger for their friendship and support during Willie's illness, and to the kind people of Hospice of Dayton for assisting in fulfilling his wish to spend his final days at home.  A celebration of life with friends and family will be held Sunday, February 5th at 2:00 p.m at First Church of Christ on Ledbetter Road in Xenia.
