William C. Matey, Sr., 84, of Xenia, Ohio, passed away Thursday, December 10, 2020, at St. Leonard's Center, Centerville. He was born February 15, 1936, in Cleveland, Ohio, the son of Edward and Anna Cecilia Senko Matey. He was a member of St. Brigid Church, and was a veteran of the United States Coast Guard. He retired from General Electric. He is survived by his wife, Virginia (Hitter) Matey, whom he married, September 28, 1957, his children, Terri (Bob) Sisco, London, Will Matey, Spring Valley, Linda (Eric) Estes, Boulder City, NV, and Dan (Yang) Matey, Atlanta, GA, five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and by many close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, and by a brother, Edward Matey, Jr. Bill will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Private graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family in St. Brigid Cemetery. A Memorial Mass will be held at a later date.
