William K. "Kenny" Smith, 91, of Savannah, GA, formerly of Xenia, passed away Tuesday, January 8, 2019, at Insignia of Savannah. He was born August 26, 1927, in Xenia, Ohio the son of Ray and Nellie Chenoweth Smith. He was a veteran of the United States Army and Navy, serving during World War II and the Korean War. He was a lifetime member of Xenia Elks Lodge, #668. He retired from NCR after 35 years employment and from the Xenia Post Office (15 years). He was an avid Ohio State and Cincinnati Reds fan. He enjoyed playing golf. He is survived by a daughter, Terry Lewis, West Chester, two sons and daughters-in-law, Jay (Tamera) Smith, Savannah, GA, and Joey (Dawn) Smith, Miamisburg, five grandchildren, Caleb Smith, Kristen Smith, Caitlin Smith, Abigail Lewis, and Kylee Lewis, four step-grandchildren, Don Mallon, Andrea Johnson, Alexis Lattimore, and Jake Lattimore, a sister-in-law, Joan Smith, Beavercreek, by numerous nieces and nephews, and by many close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Betty L. (Seabold) Smith, on November 9, 1989, a grandson, Luke Lewis, by two sisters, Winifred (Everett) Koogler and Emma Harriet Berwager, and by three brothers, Allen Ray Smith, Carlton Smith, and James Harold "Hod" Smith. Kenny will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Services will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, January 16th at Neeld Funeral Home, 1276 N. Detroit St., Xenia, with Rev. Mark Brooks officiating. Visitation will be held from 12:30 pm Wednesday until service time. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Xenia.
